L’arrivée en Sicile avait de quoi décourager surtout à cause de ces mafieux de Lastminute.com dont je n’aurais d’autres conseils que : « fuyez ! »
En vrai, je n’y croyais plus beaucoup à ce voyage. Entre l’annulation de vol aller, le report du vol retour, la non-modification de la location de la voiture et la crise sanitaire qui venait, pour ainsi dire, foutre le bordel, franchement, je me voyais clouer au sol à Orly avec mes valises.
Donc, il y eu une délectation certaine lors du premier verre de vin sicilien… en Sicile.

Le Siciliens
Loin du cliché du Parrain et des mafieux (mais il y en a toujours), les siciliens sont vraiment hyper accueillants. Nous avons toujours trouvé une âme généreuse pour nous aider dans le choix des hotels / restaurants ou trouver un parking. Les locations de meublés ont été une agréable surprise, tant du point de vue de la prestation que de l’hôte qui nous accueillait. Pas de doute, c’est une atout majeur du voyage.
Et de plus, nous ne nous sommes jamais sentis mal à l’aise ou même en insécurité (si ce n’est dans les catacombes de Palerme, mais là, je divague)
La gastronomie
Magnifique ! Succulente ! Variée ! Surprenante !
Voilà en 4 mots comment je résumerais la délicieuse gastronomie sicilienne. Comme nous étions essentiellement en bord de mer nous avons surtout goûté des specialités marines : pâtes aux oursins, pâtes à la sardine, pâtes (oui, souvent des pâtes) aux gambas. Comme j’adore les pâtes, je n’ai vraiment pas eu à me forcer. Mais il y également ce délicieux couscous de la mer à Mazara del Vallo, ville où l’influence arabe est forte.
